In close collaboration with Sparebanken Vest, we have created a brand that challenges traditional and conventional Norwegian banks while strengthening Sparebanken Vest's position against increasing competition from foreign companies.

Stand out from the crowd

Consumers view the banking category as conservative, dull and uninspiring. The goal was to create a bank that differentiates itself from competitors through a distinctive visual identity and unique service offerings, including home loans.

To cultivate a collaborative environment, we set up our operations at the client's premises, enabling us to work on strategic positioning, naming, branding, and the overall concept in close collaboration with product and service development.

Tailored for mobile devices

The logo symbol evokes associations more aligned with sports and lifestyle brands than a traditional bank. The colour palette is rooted in a 'dark mode', with shades of dark blues complemented by a vibrant reddish-pink hue. Together, these colours create an expression that differs from the visual norms usually associated with the banking sector in Norway.

The overall visual identity is built upon simple graphic elements well-suited for 3D modeling and animation in both the app and other digital platforms. Regarding typography, the primary objective was to find a font optimized for small screens. Prioritizing legibility while also incorporating intriguing details and uniqueness.
